If there was one lure in the Frogley’s Offshore catalogue that does not need an introduction, it would be the Atomic Crank 38 Series. I would hazard a guess and say that this little guy has accounted for more Bream tournament wins in this country, than any other hard body lure. So well regarded is the fishability of the crank, that it is now seen as the benchmark, and that trademark wide wobble is something that other companies are falling over one another to replicate.
What sets the Atomic Crank 38 apart from its competitors can be attributed to three significant factors:
It is pretty much unrivalled for its action in the water. The wide wobble is a visual delight to anything within range, and the pulsing action reassures the angler that this little maestro is doing his job well.
The Atomic Crank casts a country mile, which makes it ideal for casting over flats and along rock walls. Without accuracy, castability is pointless. The crank is super accurate and this comes down to the flawless design and weight distribution.
Atomic hard body lures are synonymous with excellent quality builds and hardware. The Crank is no exception. A strict company quality assurance program guarantees the Crank 38 series will swim the way it was intended, straight out of the box. Equipped with the ever reliable Gamakatsu trebles, the Atomic Crank is ready when you are!
It may have initially come to fame on the bream circuit but the Atomic Crank to me, is a “go to” for a wide range of species, both estuarine and freshwater.
I will turn to the Atomic Crank when things aren’t going to plan. Whether it be chasing Flathead on the flats, Bream in tight structure or wild Bass in small streams, this proven performer seems to find them when nothing else will. I am now finding it just as successful up here in Cairns, when chasing Sooty and Jungle Perch. It is just way too easy to fish with the crank, no special wizardry required, a simple slow roll will produce results every time.
